Yes, indeed, we've been giving Rin the love she deserves in terms of game balance, level art, and addressing other nuances typically reserved for the end of the production pipeline. You're probably wondering, "What's been going on?" Allow us to shed some light! Time has flown since our last update! Rest assured, we're still here and busier than ever, immersing ourselves in the most critical phase of game development - finalizing the game. Can you please clarify what you meant? I already mentioned the editor, unless you’re talking about players using talking about players using it, which while I would definitely classify it as a feature, it’s in no ways fun to use.įinally, I watched a couple of their community videos, but I'm not sure if it's just me or they always avoided answering all the crucial questions about the games development cycle and whatnot.Greetings from the trenches! We may have been quiet, but we've been anything but idle - we're working our way towards a happy conclusion ) I also in no way shape or form said it was marketed as feature complete.Īs for the part about the level editor? I don't even get what you mean. I never said Wolfire sucks at their job, I merely stated that they are slowing down their development rate, and as I said, I'm eagerly awaiting the games full release, which I'm sure will be awesome, as the combat already is and I do enjoy occasionally messing around in Arena mode, but it's far from $30 worth of value in its current state. I also realise that weekly updates are harder to do than monthly ones, and yes I did read their reasoning’s behind it, but my point was that even though they're saying they're working just as hard as with the weekly updates, the updates have been trickling off, they're definitely not monthly anymore, and even you can't argue with that. I knew they hired a new team member for level design, (I should have said three members but the new member isn't full time is he?) but the updates aren't exactly coming any quicker than without him are they? What multiple updates regularly? I'm on the advanced branch and receive nearly none, and any that are released are just bug fixes. My point about Gamersgate was that it was pointless to get into an argument which neither side is going to give on, and is just going to cause problems while simultaneously wasting time. Maybe I worded my initial argument a bit strongly, but all the information was there. I can't wait for the day that it is fully released, but I think that currently there is little point, unless they are going to drastically increase the price when it finally hits Beta sometime this year. So personally I would wait until it's finished unless you can't resist it now. Have a look at it and see what one person can achieve in two years, and I would argue that his game is at last as complex as this. Now before you say that it's only two devs, I would like to refer you to Limit Theory. All they have to do is create the actual maps. I know the Dev's are working on going into Beta (though they could have gone into Betaat least a year ago with pretty much the same content) and the campaign, but come on, a campaign doesn't take that long, they already have a (simplistic/quick and easy to use) scene maker for the characters so they don't even have to make cinematics and they have an in-game editor to easily populate the levels. It might also be just me but the recent updates don't seem to have as much in them compared to the monthly ones, which is kinda worrying. The updates used to be weekly, then monthly and now there are only a handful a year. I love this game but check out the frequency of the updates this past year and a half or so, there practically are none, and back two or so years ago you will see the frequency of them decrerasing steadily. On the upside though the dev's like to use their time (which by buying the game you have effectively paid/funded them to) arguing with randoms about their stance on Gamersgate. There is nothing to do in it except fight rabbits in an arena endlessly and the development seems to have slowed to a crawl.
